Purpose:

Yellow is the generally accepted color for fall risk patients or residents. A significant number of falls occur after admission, which includes new admissions to your facility as well as floor-to-floor transfers. The purpose of the Secure® Fall Prevention Admission Kit is to help prevent injurious falls between admission and finalization of a patient or resident's Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessment and implementation of a total fall prevention program specific to a patient or resident. In some cases it can take up to two weeks to implement a patient or resident’s total fall prevention program. The admission kit will also assist in preventing a “Never Event” financial liability and/or an F-Tag violation.
